Mouse Won't Work

If it is a roller-ball mouse clean out the ball part underneath. Usually these twist open and you can get inside to clean out all the dust and grime that it attracts.

Borrow a friends mouse to see if it is the PS2 (the name of the port it plugs into) at fault. If it still won't work you will need to purchase either a USB mouse or USB to PS2 adaptor to keep using the same mouse.

If the mouse is juddery on the screen it may be you are using an optical mouse on a reflective mouse mat. Try putting a matt (non-reflective) piece of paper on top of the mouse mat to see if that helps.

If you are using a wireless mouse try replacing the batteries to see if that improves performance.
